ILS and Life Cycle Management for SensorCom Customers

Seaport-e Team MemberTechnology Refresh & InsertionIntegrated Logistics Service

Integrated Logistics Support

SensorCom recognizes the necessity of providing ILS and lifecycle management on its deployed systems and products through all the phases of a customer’s program. SensorCom’s internal programmatics allow it to sustain the life of its fielded products for up to 7 years, allowing customer Program Managers to maintain systems hardware, legacy software, mitigate the risk of obsolescence and reduce the overall cost of ownership.

The following elements are included in SensorCom’s life cycle programs:

Design SensorCom has a documented design process, and designs its systems and products to meet the defined application and environment.

Suppliers SensorCom has its own AVL, and a process for approving suppliers. Once approved, suppliers are subject to quality data analysis, quality tracking and trend analysis.

Reliability Reliability prediction and MTBF figures are habitually system and program specific. SensorCom can usually provide data relevant to a customer’s specific application.

MTTR SensorCom’s experience has shown that MTTR calculations are generally program and system specific.

Spares Sparing recommendations are a function of specific program requirements and duty cycles, and any agreed upon technology insertion interval. Recommended sparing level considers assumptions for continuous operation, predicted failure rates, years of deployed life and number of deployed units.

Product Testing SensorCom tests all its systems via burn-in coupled with environmental cycling. Inherent in this testing is the inclusion of diagnostic and application test routines.

Configuration
Management
SensorCom can offer its’ customers the opportunity to exercise configuration management, with associated yearly charges, for SensorCom systems/products destined for a specific program.

Program Management SensorCom can assign a specified program manager for all major programs from its customers. The program manager provides a single point of contact within SensorCom and is the customer’s internal advocate, responsible for:

All contractual execution
Communication between SensorCom and the customer
Meeting/exceeding requested delivery dates
Any program specific environmentals
Any qualification testing and reporting above the ‘normal’ requirements
Any requested FAT requirements
Performance, benchmarking and testing tools

Obsolescence Management As part of its ILS Process, SensorCom has an ongoing EOL review process for components. This incorporates component reviews and any phase out recommendations, including replacement component identification and recommendation; and, if necessary, sparing and stocking strategy and production support.

Technology Insertion

Historically, production programs initially target a 5-8 year window of ILS; after which technology insertion is considered a viable option. SensorCom can provide proposals at the inception of a program’s deployment which can be utilized to define a P3I strategy allowing for maintenance of application software and the minimization of hardware technology insertion costs. . (As an example, SensorCom maintained and upgraded the hardware and software on an internal reference platform; insuring both ILS and the proper and timely upgrade of its customer’s deployed systems).

SensorCom offers upgrade planning capability that allows for short design-insertion cycles of successive refinements or successive point-technology insertions, whichever best suits customer’s program requirements

Long Term Production SensorCom can also be instructed to maintain a specific hardware and software configuration in production for as long as necessary, recognizing that such a strategy bears associated costs.

Reparability SensorCom recognizes there has been a paradigm shift in the marketplace…repairable items are usually returned to the vendor for action.

Technical Support Long-term technical support and on-site assistance is available.

SensorCom's ILS allows its customer's Program Management to mitigate the risk of obsolescence, whether from technological advances or market forces, by partnering with a proactive team having the willingness, resources and tools available to effectively offer ILS and Program Life Cycle Support for up to XX years. If a customer has additional requirements not addressed in this overview, please notify SensorCom. It is highly probable that we can accommodate your needs and requirements.
